Founded in December 2008, the Foster and Adoptive Family Services Foundation provides financial support to Foster and Adoptive Family Services (FAFS), a non-profit organization located in New Jersey. FAFS, incorporated in 1974, provides support, training and advocacy to meet the special needs of foster, adoptive and kinship families, who provide a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for children in foster care.
The fundraising efforts of the Foundation support programs such as Fostering Wishes for Children, The Backpack Program, A Holiday Celebration for Every Child, Camp Scholarships, and academic and independent living scholarships. All of these programs rely on private donations to exist - none receive state or federal government funding. FAFS also provides support to foster, adoptive and kinship families through their local parent/family support groups and social events like holiday parties. These support groups also need your help.
All of these programs benefit children in foster care in New Jersey. It is through the generosity of our donors and sponsors that we are able to support these important programs that help normalize the lives of children in foster care.
We invite you to join us by donating and/or attending our special events. Partner with us to be part of the community that supports New Jersey's children in foster care and the families who provide their care . You are needed.
